Another year, another Great American Beer Festival! We have gathered our favorite winning beers and some of our favorite winning breweries for a special night! Featuring beers from: Alvarado St., Alesmith, Mraz, Social Kitchen, Headlands, Eel River, Beachwood, Ommegang, and Danville.
The local homebrew club, Diablo Order of Zymiracle Enthusiasts (DOZE), has produced some very talented professional brewers. We have gathered those who have taken their hobby to the next level to show off their local talent. Join Farm Creek Brewing, Danville Brewing Company, Shadow Puppet Brewing Company, Mraz Brewing Company, and more will be here with their own beers as well as those that they partnered up with home brewers to design.
Brewmaster Christian is coming down from Fairfax and bringing some amazing beers with him. Iron Springs Brewery has been making some great hop forward beers and we will be pouring a wide selection including Above the Flood DIPA, JC Flyer IPA, and Head Change Hoppy Lager.
Our friends over at Fort Point Beer Company have decided to can their ever popular Animal IPA! We will be releasing a limited amount of six packs as well as be pouring the beer on tap! Stop by and grab some insanely fresh beers! Animal IPA is an intensely aromatic IPA whose vibrant tropical hop character is grounded by a dry, well-structured malt backbone. The primary flavors of pineapple, citrus and mango -- the result of blending Australian Vic Secret, Citra and Simcoe hops -- work harmoniously to create an IPA in the Fort Point tradition: an exceptionally bold, well-balanced beer.
Join us for the relaunch and one year anniversary celebration of Walnut Creek's Farm Creek Brewing. Local homebrewer turned pro Randy Janinda will be here to talk about all four of his new beers! Come celebrate and learn about the local brewing scene!
Our good friends in the North Bay Iron Springs Brewing will be joining us to pour their amazing beers! Brewmaster Christian will be here to talk about how his Kolsch is just that good and other beer related things. We will also be featuring some of the first cans the brewery has ever produced.
Blending Old World and New, Laughing Monk Brewing from San Francisco is making beers for everyone! Excelling in the hoppy California Ales as well as the traditional Belgian offerings is a difficult task that requires many different ingredients to balance the scale. We will be pouring some beers out of both sides of their extensive portfolio.
Our neighbors in Walnut Creek, Calicraft Brewing Co., just celebrated one year of their tasting room being open! We wanted to have them come down for another party here at The Hop Grenade. These born and raised Bay Area boys will be here to talk about their taproom, their adventures in sour beer, and how the cities in the area inspire the beers that they make!
Come down and check out one of the up and coming breweries in the East Bay. Founded in 2015, Alameda Island Brewing Company is making delicious IPAs, creative dark beers, and even made a Pilsner with our one and only Tasty! An array of their beers will be on tap and the brewers will be here to chat about what makes their brews stand out!

For the second year in a row we are bringing San Francisco to Concord! All of our taps will be taken over by beers that were made in San Francisco and many breweries will be here to talk about their beer and the guild's involvement in the local craft beer scene. It is time for the annual Sierra Nevada Beer Camp. This year they crossed valleys, mountains, and oceans to collaborate with TWELVE different breweries from around the globe. We will be having all twelve beers on tap at once as well as other Sierra Nevada brews!
Collaboration breweries include: Avery, Boneyard, Tree House, Mikkeller, Saint Arnold, Surly, The Bruery, Ayinger, Garage Project, Duvel, Fuller's, Kiuchi.
The Hop Grenade is very excited to have Revision Brewing Co. from Parks, NV in house! Jeremy, formally of Knee Deep, will be bringing in fresh, hoppy creations! These IPAs, DIPAs, and more are all ready to rip your tastebuds off with their dank, resinous flavor!

The time has come for the annual Brewing Network Spring Brews Festival. Before the festival we will be hosting a VIP hour for a limited number of people featuring incredible beers and unlimited snacks from Whole Foods Market! Come pair rare and unique beers with cheese, charcuterie, and salads! Tickets are on sale at The Hop Grenade for $35. This ticket consists of six 4oz pours from our taps, unlimited sampling of food from Whole Foods Market, and a VIP access to get into the festival without waiting in line. (This ticket does not include entrance to the festival, that can be purchased separately or bundled together with the VIP hour.) We wrap up SF Beer Week with the release of HenHouse Brewing's double IPA, Big Chicken! This once a year beer is a hop explosion that goes down smooth. We will be tapping the Big Chicken that we know and love as well as three single hop versions as well.
Phantom Carriage Brewing will be hauling a cart load of great beer up from Carson, California. Known for their barrel aged sours, and wild fermentation they will showcase these along with delicious IPAs and other awesome brews. Tap list includes:

Two terrific breweries have collaborated on a great double IPA, and we will be tapping it to usher in San Francisco Beer Week! Local California favorite El Segundo and Washington newcomer Grains of Wrath are in the house, and if that is not enough to entice you, Fat Head's PDX is making an appearance and bringing with them some of their award-winning brews too.
